The War and Disaster Medicine Center of the ENDC is organizing the conference for the doctors of war and disaster medicine, the Estonian Defence Forces and the Estonian Defence League, as well as for doctors, nurses and paramedics in reserve, and for civil healthcare employees. The conference will be held at the Viru Conference Centre in Tallinn from 23 November to 24 November 2017. This year the conference will be held for the 11th time and, in addition to conference presentations on war and disaster medicine issues, there will also be workshops on simulation and trauma patient handling.
Specialists from Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, England, South Africa and Estonia will be presenting, including Ken Boffard from the Republic of South Africa, Per Örtenwall from Sweden, Nedas Jasinskas and Ausrine Usaityte from Lithuania, Jaakko Keränen from Finland, and Peep Talving from Estonia. The working languages of the conference are Estonian and English, with simultaneous interpreting provided. The conference features an exhibition organized to display the equipment and supplies used in emergency medicine, war and disaster medicine and in relevant training, and also professional literature.
This year’s conference will focus on standardized training as well as on simulation, trauma patient handling and military missions abroad.
Conference fees: 40 EUR/1 day, 60 EUR/2 days; for students 20 EUR/1 day, 40 EUR/2 days. No participation fee for active service members of the EDF.
